Welcome to my 1st blog site.
Lots going on since I started my Blog:
It is Mid May already. Leaving the end of this week and heading to Mississippi to get my Brother Edwin, then up to Evansville, Ind, to be with my Sister and take care of her boys. She is having Brain Surgery. Then to Illinois for a few days then Home. About 3 weeks gone.
May 17th 2009 Here is added pics. The soap box, for my soaps to set up in, and the cutterbox, to cut them with. Works really well, as the ends of my SoapBox remove to slide out the soap block. No screws, an wing nuts for me. I just pull out the plugs, 4 on each end and slide out the soap block. My design, and my creation. Hubby bent the rods for me...Great job Honeydoo....
And pics of the closet coming along nicely. I am up to 6 large garbage bags of stuff to either sell, (hubby says to get something for all that so sell I guess) or donate. Still have more to fill....What a load off my back getting it done after all these years. It feels great. And the closet is organized and easy to keep up.

This will certainly be my adventure as I like to do many different things and have many projects going on and on and on. Some I actually get finished. If those projects don't get in my way I will be able to keep up with this blog.
My talents are self taught, with moderate to nil schooling. I come from a vast family of incredibly talented and crafty people.
Passion for Sewing, mostly clothing, interior stuff too.
Woodworking, gotta love it and can't get enough of it, nor the time. Geezzz
Interior Decorating....the home always needs stuff to be done. Inside and out, neverending.
Big project now is the Master Bedroom Closet (see the pics...out with old). The best part was pounding out the old wood boards. Of course way too many clothes. Downsizing is emminent and happening, in a big way with lots to do. 20 years in this house, collecting and stuffing. It is over now.
Closetmaid is partly installed and some items have returned to their new organized place. What a difference WHEW...!!
I have had to be plain ruthless in the tossing out department. I am on my way tho'. Hubby is tossing out too....whoopie !!!!
Soap and Handmade Bath Stuff, been making Soap and Hand Milled Soaps for a few years. Bath Salts and Sugar Scrubs is new and wonderful on the body. Enjoying this immensely.

Newest thing I made is a great Lotion. The Hubbie says, I should make it and sell it. He thinks it is the best he has ever used. His sunparched arms, are staying emollieated, moisturized, and the dryness is gone. Even after showering he can feel the difference. Whoopie....He even told me to order the bottles to sell it.....Now that is a shocker....big time....for him to want me to spend money.....Bottles have arrived. When I return from the Midwest in mid-June....I will be making my lotion.

Hey Gail, I just found this again. I forgot where it was....lol I should remember now and intend to update it.
ReplyDeleteSis,
ReplyDeleteAha! I found your site! Tee hee...I had to take a moment to thank you for coming to stay with me ... beyond all my sisters talents in creating things of beauty, making heavenly scented soaps and goodies, and sewing so well that you can't even tell up close if it was handmade or store bought (as far as I'm concerned she's magic of course!), she has a heart of gold! When she heard I was having brain surgery, she dropped everything and flew out here to the middle of no where (practically) and took excellent care of me and my kids. I can't tell you how much it meant to me. All I know is that there is no greater love in the world than family. Having you and my big bro here just rocked my world! I just opened the coconut soap you left me and I can't get enough of it...if Mom and Aunt Ruthie had made soap like that when we were kids I probably would have washed my hands A LOT more...LOL!
Love ya bunches and so very glad we could share, laugh and cry a bit together ... face time is precious!

Wow, I found my blog site again. I should have less to do and I might find it more. Since my last blog, my life has been very very tough and hectic. 2010...Medically, the hubby had been a mess, healing up just fine now.Out of town family for total time of 5 months helping us get through the Medical stuff, and a visit from my nephew in the summer making that the 5th month. Our little business is solid,so that is good.Oct 2010 with the first of the big rains here we had roof leaks, then that got worse and worse with each consecutive rainfall to the tune of 19 leaks. Now we have exposed wood in the ceilings in 4 rooms, drywall missing from walls in other rooms and the start of 2011 is off and running rampant.
ReplyDeleteMore later when I remember where this site is...LOL... oh gosh, where did I put my memory....maybe I'll find it...
I just thought of something...and did it...Yeah I actually bookmarked my blog site on my toolbar....cleverrr. Thanks Firefox for making that easy.
